Javier's view and mission involve an active collaboration with nature in the production of fine craft art to
elicit a sense of reconnection, appreciation and belonging to those elements of nature,
while beautifying and enhancing the space.

Javier Tomas Dones is a mixed media visual artist born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1967.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1990 from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.
Relocated to Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1992. Worked as a resident artist of the ArtLofts @ Florida CraftArt until 2023. Active in our art community and member of several Art Associations. Currently a resident artist of the Skyway Marina District and functioning as the district's art consultant, catalyst and organizer.
Javier's work springs from a lifelong passion and fascination for the elements of Nature. For her power, patterns, and structures.
The medium is metals and chemistry. Copper is the main working material. The coloration
on the copper is the actual patina elicited by unique chemical processes. Other metals,
natural pigments and enamels are often incorporated.
Mainly wall art and commonly presenting three dimensional elements and textures.
