My goal is always to capture something unique. With portraits, I try and show the true essence of a person, something they might be hiding behind their smile. Landscape and architectural pieces are the same - the challenge is to find something unexpected about an everyday place people may have passed and didn't even notice. I am constantly trying to catch the extraordinary in the ordinary. I also want the viewer to immerse themselves in my pieces, and I love it when they discover something I had not even realized was there.......
I am a Tampa-based photographic artist focusing mainly on landscapes, architecture, and natural portraiture. I've had a camera in my hand since I was a teenager. I was lucky enough to study with Baldwin Lee, a student of the renowned photographer Walker Evans. Freelancing on and off for many years, I've had the great opportunity to have my work shown in galleries and shows in Raleigh, Wilmington, and Tampa. I created and directed the Westchase Holiday Market, which offered artists a voice in the community, as well as raising over $23,000 for Autism Speaks over the last 10 years. I'm also a mom, writer and actor.
