Artist Statement

WORK WITH IT, NOT AGAINST IT! I found out this can be effective in many ways throughout life. Try to be happy, positive, appreciative and thankful for whatever you have, even when times are tough. Remember somebody else is way worse off than you. Try to do whatever you want to do in life, even if it means working a job you don't like, but doing what you love on the side. Many artists, including myself, have had to do this most of their lives. If you are unhappy, do something, anything, to change whatever it is, so you can be happy. Create art, music, crafts, poetry, writing, paintings, acting, dancing, photography, or whatever it is that makes you happy. If you mess up, who cares, try again. Be proud, and create more, and more, and more.

Biography

I am a freelance artist and I create, design and illustrate logos, business cards, flyers, t-shirt designs, and more.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I started working in a darkroom running camera shots and doing paste-up art for t-shirts for R.K. Stratman (a Harley Davidson t-shirt company) in St. Louis in 1991. Then I designed Lapel Pins for Wilson Trophy Company in 1993. Moved to Florida and worked for Fish and Game Finder Magazine in Orlando as a paste-up artist in 1994. I worked at Midstate Screen Graphics in Clearwater as an ink mixer in 1995, then for Sunlover T-shirts in Largo as a camera and layout artist, as well as a screen printer in 1996. I was employed at Bic Graphic USA as a multicolor screen printer on pens, from 1997 until April 2013.
I am now a full time artist for my own company NODLAND DESIGNS.
I also created Nodz Art as my fine art painting name, from a nickname in high school "Nodz" from Nodland, my last name. I paint with acrylic, oil and watercolor and I use many different styles such as abstract, surrealism, cubism, while making up images and ideas as I paint.
Specialties: I specialize in pen and ink Illustrations. I illustrate homes, buildings, cars, animals, and whatever you need. I also illustrate with colored pencils, creating t-shirt designs and more. I work with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for my graphic design services.
