Kerra Almy

Artist Statement

This collection of horror inspired paintings and drawings include some of my favorite work. The exploration of fear through inelegant brush strokes and gritty textures gives me permission to be imperfect while embedding glimpses of trauma behind scribbles and haphazard shapes is emboldening as I pursue an understanding and acceptance of the horrors and delights of my past, present, and future through the lens of horror cinematography.

Biography

Kerra Almy is recycled object assemblage artist and painter living in St. Petersburg, FL. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Kerra has a passion for finding new purpose for discarded items, giving them new life in works of art.
