Artist Statement

Male shoulders,abstract lovers, the elegance of a woman's curve, a misty dawn, the seaside, grandma's hands, urban art, graffiti. Inspiration is everywhere! Drawing & painting is my urgent, essential, inherent necessity! My childhood artistry began with sketching. As an adult it evolved into watercolor landscapes, pen & ink to acrylics. I'm drawn to realism, landscapes but stretched myself to abstract impressionism and the study of the human body. Life drawing sessions are a favorite, improving my figurative skills with its raw, quick poses, ever-changing models, light & environments. I challenge myself, utilizing new subject matter, mediums and genre's. The diversity of my art is a reflection of my inquisitive, vivacious, passionate personality. I will endeavor to keep my hand at it, moving pencils, charcoal & paint across canvas, paper, walls and any surface that will have me! "I make Art, thus, Art makes me!"

Biography

I'm a Self taught artist, drawing since I could hold a pencil. I became a Graphic Artist, freelancing over 20 years while raising kids, marriage & bake sales! I created a few Christmas cards, doodles & sketches back then but after 18 years, when my son went to college I started painting rocks, chairs, walls, canvas, anything not moving! Rediscovering my passion for painting at 45 was like breathing again. Painting and creating is a necessity now! I can't NOT do it!
