As an Artist and as a person I am very drawn to light. Particularly sunlight and the way it plays upon the world we live in. The early morning and late afternoon sunlight as it moves tangentially across the landscape and figures can be so stunning. This is what draws me in as an artist! I have worked in many mediums but Pastel is my favorite. I have been working in this versatile and very tactile medium since I was a teenager.
I have found that pastel can be translated into light so well! Partly due to the ability to layer color and partly due to the sheer vibrancy of the pigment. It allows me to try to capture the beauty of creation on my easel...over and over again!

Artist Bio
My story as an Artist began when I was in kindergarten. That is when I knew I was an Artist!
My life as an Artist, until now, has been a journey of balancing my desire to be an Artist with the rest of the realities of life.
Formal Education includes majoring in Studio Art in college however my career path took me in a different direction. After college I went into a Physician Assistant program and worked in this field for over 30 years while also raising a family.
During my adult years I continued to seek out instruction from talented artists through workshops, classes and books. Always trying to keep a space for Art in my life, always trying to improve my work.
I have participated in and won awards in many art competitions. I taught drawing and portraiture privately and have recently begun teaching Pastel in Naples and Marco Island.
I have been a member and past Vice President of the Southwest Florida Pastel Society. I helped plan and execute the first online Pastel Competition for the Pastel Society.
I am currently exhibiting in Coco Gallery Estero and Coco Gallery Naples. I am the Assistant Director of Coco Gallery Naples.
I continue to observe the beauty of the world each day and I try to recreate this beauty on my easel.
