Artist Statement

I paint with acrylics, markers, and oil pastel to create vivid and textured pieces. I love the endless ways that acrylics viscosity, transparency, and texture can be manipulated to evoke different effects. It is important to me to be ethical with my products and practices by sourcing only vegan materials, using safe water disposal practices, and using upcycled materials instead of one-time-use products like paper towels. Paintings are part of my spiritual practice to bring presence to myself and others. I lovingly welcome you to experience the wonder and awe of my creations.

Biography

I spent many years of my life in a programmed delusion. I started painting at a time when I came to realize I was in total power though I had no control of my life. My paintings are an embodiment of our life in this dimension. As I create, I have total autonomy over what colors I use, what strokes I take, and what materials I select. I have no control over the eventual outcome or the turmoil of the emotional journey I will take to arrive at the finish.
I paint to show us the end result of our journey will be a total masterpiece. When I am painting there are many many layers, which build to give the final painting depth and beauty. But those in between layers which support the painting can be downright ugly! In the end, the bold saturated colors pop against the neutrals. Our lives are masterpieces which are built on all aspects of life.
