Cengizhan DoÄŸan (left) was undefeated in Turkish Oil Wrestling (YaÄŸlÄ± gÃ¼reÅŸ) at the time of this shoot.

Oil wrestling can be traced back to ancient Sumer and Babylon and competitions are held on "proving grounds." The proving grounds offer a venue to prove their manhood, but a great deal of sportsmanship is exhibited as well.

The boys, both age 14, are students at a top level sports academy, Antalya BÃ¼yÃ¼kÅŸehir Asat Spor KulÃ¼bÃ¼, in Istanbul (Asian side).
