Two brothers in the Phaya Thai area of Bangkok, Thailand.
This was an informal photoshoot as I had only come to meet the boys to confirm their participation in a future photo shoot. As Songkran (Thai New Year water festival) had just concluded, the boys easily discovered a discarded water pistol on the ground.
Pluck (the older brother) quickly ran through these somewhat disturbing motions without any prompting from me. This was surprising as guns are not prevalent in Thailand like they are in America. What was even more shocking was the deadpan facial expression of each boy.
In contrast to the vintage editing style, the series seems particularly timely with the profoundly frightening trend of mass shootings in the United States.
Sadly, for many young boys, guns are seen as the ultimate accessory to compliment and prove their manhood.
