The title of this piece combines the human body's lymphatic system and Lepidoptera, an order of insects that includes butterflies and moths. After drawing multiple straight lines diagonally on 2 sheets of Bristol board, I created a large, symmetrical wingspan with intertwining blood vessels, rib bones, heart valves and organs. In retrospect, this image (in my opinion) emulates the visceral horror of Italy's blood-drenched giallo films, especially since some of the marker I utilized is glowing neon.
