Information

The visual system is hardwired to detect certain visual features along its path. It begins with primary visual cortical cells that detect light/dark and color, and progresses to circuitry for edge detection and motion. At higher levels, temporal cortical visual cells respond to complex stimuli such as hands and faces. This work postulates that the popularity of certain logos may also be the result of our innate physiology.
