Information

I began doodling sketches from photos of orchids while waiting for hours at a Tires Plus to get an oil change for my car. Since then, I got into the habit of bringing a drawing pad to Tires Plus whenever I need services. Among the pen thumbnails I made, I kept a couple of orchids with cyclops eyes and human tongues sticking out. From there I wanted to create a visceral yet tongue-in-cheek (haha!) image of carnivorous alien flora. The psychedelic orange and black marker patterns that fill in the background were meant to suggest insects and branches.
