Information

This piece was inspired by Frida Kahlo who was a famous Mexican painter known for her self portraits which often had strong autobiographical elements mixed with realism and fantasy. She is also known for paintings about her experience with chronic pain after suffering life long injuries in a bus accident when she was 18 years old.

A fractured and fragile body never stopped her from pursuing her art until her death at age 47 in 1954.
