Hello, Uglies! Dragula is a reality show that's somewhat like RuPaul's Drag Race, but BETTER. MUCH BETTER. Incorporating intense 'floor show' challenges inspired by slasher flicks, punk rock, John Waters, sci-fi B-movies, and walkthrough haunted houses, the show has lasted 4 seasons thus far and was founded by the Boulet Brothers, Dracmorda, and Swanthula, who not only always look ghoulishly fabulous in their matching outfits, but continue unveiling to the mainstream world the darker, weirder and more dangerous side of queer culture. I needed to use colored pencil for both of their faces so I'd have more control over skin tones, and I traced and colored in Neon marker each background Jack-O-Lantern by hand. This was meant to pay homage to the Shudder special Dragula: Resurrection, where all the queens who aren't given a second chance to enter Season 4 are killed off by a videotape borrowed from Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. I added an eye plucking for humor! ;)
