A succession of heartbreaking betrayals has at last led to severe depression and anxiety. She had denied both for decades, but the weight of sadness has finally descended. With the help of two therapists and the right medications, she is beginning to emerge from the fog of sadness.
In homage to her revered Frida Kahlo, arteries from her painfully exposed heart snake around her culminating in spiky medallions centered with dimensional black skulls.
Spring flowers of hope begin to rise; their petals are clipped from the prescription labels of her drugs. Lines of her "crazy pills" create a frame around her. Their effects have reached her head, but not, as yet, her heart.
