Information

The pieces in this show originated with finding a round object on the beach having a cylindrical hole in the middle. Looking through it, I saw the distinct possibility of interesting photos. After taking this shot, I reduced the photo to a tiny subject and, with little manipulation, the image came into being.

As for the title, the musical definition of a fugue is, roughly, a concert piece that builds on itself with different melodies; whereas, psychologically speaking, a fugue is stepping out of one's reality. Looking into this photo, melodies with dissonant rhythms seem to come together in a reality distinct from the original image and head into unreal spaces.
