Information

The Blue Bass is a restoration project. This stand up bass, was damaged in transit (suffered a broken neck) when it was shipped to Miami, FL. from Little Rock, AK. and was headed to the trash pile when I rescued it from impending doom. My intent was to turn it into a piece of art while it still functions as an instrument. The body is inlaid with custom framed mexican tiles and custom cut fins. The bridge, tailpiece and saddle are fully custom pieces, while the fingerboard and upper and lower bouts are adorned in a blue, gray and white tile mosaic. The body was painted in navy blue and then hand painted with white acrylic "doodles". The bass can be removed (unscrewed) from the stand and used as a musical instrument if desired.
