Harald Bluetooth introduced coinage to Denmark and in 1015 invaded England. Cnute, his grandson, ruled as king of England and scandinavia for 20 years. One day, Cnute ordered his throne placed by the sea at low tide and commanded the ocean to not rise and take his land. The tide came in and he took his soggy throne back proclaiming the power of kings "empty and worthless." Here we see his throne, the orb and scepter of power, the Danegeld to prevent Danish raids, and King Cnute with his worthless crown, wearing his chain mail. The coins are struck with Victor Borge and Scooby-Doo, two "Great Danes."
