Information

This piece is an original and one of a kind scratchboard artwork. This 19th century European artform is one of the most difficult and unforgiving art mediums around.
I thought it would interesting to maximize the black space in this piece. The heavy shadows add drama to the work. I imagine her as a young girl practicing for hours each day. She will be rewarded when she shares her music and skills with audiences.
