Tranquil Waters is an original mixed media artwork with dark teal faux leather draped over a 24" x 48" x 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The hanging portion of the piece adds an additional 20" to its height, making it 44" x 48" in total.
Tranquil Waters was created to evoke the calming effects brought about by gazing at large bodies of water. This is in reference to a pair of studies conducted by professor Richard Coss and his student, Craig Keller, which demonstrated that gazing at bodies of water has the ability to lower your heart rate and blood pressure, and increase feelings of calmness and relaxation.
