El Toro (The Bull) is an experimental work depicting the use of lines and symbols to create images. This style of painting is more readily used on my sculptures and restoration projects. Many of the symbols used are a representation of what makes me who I am. The bats represent my livelihood. The fish, my family tree as my father and grandfather were fishermen. The water, my home, as I have always lived my life near the ocean. The cross, my religious faith. The clouds are a symbol of my limitless creation. The eye a symbol of humility and the spirals a reminder of the path I am on. When combined all of these symbols form the head of the bull or El Toro, the symbol of Spain, the roots of my ancestry.
