We spend so much time as humans looking down - at our phones, computers, feet so we don't trip - or viewing everything at our own eye level. One of my favorite things to do as a photographer for a new point of view is to simply ... look up. I took a roadtrip in 2022 to the upper peninsula of Michigan to see large scale fall foliage for the first time. The trees in Pictured Rocks National Park were every shade of heat and warmth - gold, orange, crimson, amber. This one reminded me of a matchstick with flame.
