This is from a series of photos taken of magnolia blooms over the span of a few weeks. I rarely do studio work or focus on a single subject for a series, but the fading of the bloom reminded me of the imperfect process of Polaroid transfers that I enjoyed decades ago. With the film no longer readily available, I used an emulsion transfer to create a series of images and placed onto antique watercolor paper left to me by my grandparents.
