Originally carved from a scrap cleaved off of a large block of Carrara Marble, this 'sailboat' like shape was an experiment to see how thin I could get the marble. The "sail" part in stone was translucent. I never meant it to look like a boat, it just came out that way. In art, a patina is the controlled oxidation of the surface of a metal through chemical reaction.
