Information

Sometimes turning away from the the setting sun can show other beautiful scenes! Here we see the distant clouds lit up in pastel blues, purples and golds.
After setting this painting aside for almost a year, I came back to it and added multiple layers into the sky and refined the dunes. My favorite part is the slightly warm whites giving the effect of the last rays of sun touching the right sides of the dunes. Final touches included a small liner brush to create the blades of grass, oats and flowers.
