Information

Convection is the meteorological phenomenon that happens when the hot air over land meets the cooler air over the ocean and creates these gorgeous towering clouds along the beach and often the resultant rain flows like a waterfall in the sky. These are some of my favorite scenes to paint! I kept the colors soft in this painting by focusing on the values. I kept my reference photo (taken in St. Augustine) in a black and white filter for most of the process.
