Information

As a self-taught artist I enjoy watching time-lapse videos of other artists working on their paintings. A few years ago I was watching videos by a Scottish painter, Scott Naismith, and testing out his color theory using magenta and cyan as primary colors instead of red and ultramarine blue. This was one of my paintings influenced by this color theory. I wanted to really emphasize the colors within the clouds we have here in Florida. You can see the layers of light and shadow using warm and cool colors within the cumulonimbus over the warm colors of the beach and dune grasses.
