Information

My intention with this piece was to transform an antique panel into a 3 dimensional artwork. The bars reminded me of a cage of sorts, but I noticed one bar was cracked. I imagined a birdcage sitting in a garden setting. The birds inside longed to be free like those around them. Little did they know that there may be a price for their freedom, as a neighboring cat surveyed their endeavor. I used acrylic and oil paint on the door and birch panel. The birds and cat are formed from epoxy clay.
