Time to fly was created during a time of transition in my life. As my new reality unfolded the process was beautiful. Unfortunately, with change comes challenges and I was faced with my share.
I chose a human version of a monarch to represent the transformation. In the background is a black headed grosbeak. This happens to be one of just a few birds that can eat monarchs without being poisoned. The bird represents the challenges faced when you a in a vulnerable state of being.
The artwork is done in ink and colored pencil on durafilm and archival paper.
