This sculpture started out as a candlestick that I deconstructed and sat there twisting and turning it until I saw a scarf blowing in the wind. I built an armature out of foil and then covered that will layers of epoxy clay. She evolved in my hands. I love that process in sculpting. I envisioned her running through a field in autumn with leaves blowing past as she attempts to get her kite airborne. Her auburn hair is my favorite part. Thick tendrils trailing behind her in wild abandonment. I love this piece because she created herself in my hands.
