Information

A blue sail boat is anchored near the popular "Beer Can Island" in Tampa Bay on a beautiful summer day. I originally sketched this scene with graphite while on location. Once back in the studio I used a photo reference and started this painting with a rough sketch in oil then refined the details in the following layers of paint. The reflections in the water in the foreground was a fun challenge.
