Information

Florida sunsets are just the best! I started this painting by doing the sketch in a purple oil paint and diving right into the first layers of color. I started with the darker colors then added in the lighter colors. One of my favorite parts is "cutting in" the blue sky. To create the bright, glowing effect I used a few layers of glazed magenta, vermillion and cadmium yellow around the sun and horizon.
The frame is custom made by a local veteran turned wood craftsman.
